Men’s Breakfast - Understand a man’s anger

We all get angry. Anger is inevitable. We have biblical permission to be angry.

““Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

But we do not have biblical permission from God to stay angry, ignore our anger, suppress our anger and not learn how to process our anger.

Anger is from God who gets angry Himself, but He doesn’t get angry quickly like His creation.

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Rather, He’s slow to anger and commands us to be imitators of Him (Ephesians 5:1).

When we are not slow to anger, we find ourselves doing many foolish things (Proverbs 14:17). Being quick to anger ruins testimonies, discouraged children, slander others, and leads to verbal and physical abuse. Many men have lost their families and jobs because of their anger.

But there is power through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit to be able to be angry and sin not.

We need to see ungodly anger as information. Our anger tells us that something has happened. Whether it’s an irritation, frustration, disappointment, or offense. You’re angry because something has happened. Identify what has happened and address it.

Don’t ignore your anger and offenses. Don’t give the devil a foot hold (Ephesians 4:26-28).

Don’t ignore it and lie about it (James 3:13-18).

Like Jonah, talk to God the Father when you are angry (Jonah 4:1-4).

Before you talk to your son as a father, first talked to your Heavenly Father as a son.

Before you talk to your bride as a husband, talk to the Bridegroom about yourself.

We have victory in Christ to manifest the character of Christ. The question is do you want to?
