“But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kin

“But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This verse in the New Testament falls in the context of Jesus leaving Galilee for a final time and heading to Jerusalem. He is confronted by some religious leaders who ask Him tough questions about divorce. The event that follows catches the disciples off guard and teaches us an important lesson: eternal life is available to everyone.

After living a life of drugs and violence, I didn’t believe that God would receive me. I was to ashamed to even look up to heaven to talk to Him. “How could You love me after all I have done to people?” This was a question I would ask frequently. But after the Holy Spirit showed me that God is no respecter of person (Romans 2:11) and how Jesus Christ received the woman whose sins were many in Luke 7:47. I fell more and more in love with my Savior. No matter who you are, Jesus Christ will receive you into His arms and forgive you as if you never made a mistake. Don’t let others keep you away as the disciples tried to do to the little children. Don’t let shame and guilt keep you from running to Him for help. Jesus Christ is ready to receive you just how you are and give you eternal life with a new identity. He loves you.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
